How do you monitor the weather?

Edited

Quick answer: We run our own in-house 24/7 weather monitoring that pulls from multiple forecast models, real-time radar, and custom meteorological briefings tuned to our GTA service zones. Crews mobilize automatically when accumulation or ice activity meets our trigger thresholds.

What our monitoring covers

  • Radar and precipitation-type tracking across the service area

  • Temperature, dew point, and surface temperature (for deicing calls)

  • Multiple forecast models cross-referenced to reduce single-source error

  • Custom meteorological briefings for our exact operating footprint

Why in-house monitoring matters

We don't wait for a client to call. Dispatch is triggered by our own monitoring the moment thresholds are crossed — ice control at roughly 1 cm of snow (or freezing rain / flash freeze), and full clearing at 3 cm. That's how we get crews on-property before the storm peaks, not after.
