What is a Billing Entity?

Edited

Quick answer: A Billing Entity is the billing name, address, and email that appears on your invoices and receipts. Each Billing Entity can be linked to one or more service contracts, and a single account can hold multiple Billing Entities — useful for businesses that bill across multiple properties, business units, or legal entities.

What a Billing Entity controls

  • Billing name shown on invoices and receipts

  • Billing address for mailing and tax records

  • Billing email for invoice and payment notifications

  • Which contracts are billed under that entity

When multiple Billing Entities make sense

  • Property managers billing different owners per property

  • Businesses with separate legal entities for different buildings or divisions

  • Condominium corporations where board expenses are split across funds

  • Anyone who needs invoice names or addresses different from the account name
