What technology does Monster Plowing use?
Quick answer: We run a custom-built operations platform — live GPS and dashcam on every truck, in-house weather monitoring, automatic dispatch triggered by actual conditions on your property, and a Client Portal for proposal signing, service logs, and billing.
The stack
Live fleet telematics — GPS tracking and continuous HD dashcam recording on every plow and salter, with vehicle health monitoring.
In-house dispatch system — custom-built, integrates weather data, live crew positions, and site priorities in real time.
Weather monitoring — our own monitoring plus Environment Canada data. Ice control triggers at 1 cm of snow, at the onset of freezing rain, or on a Flash Freeze Warning. Full clearing triggers at 3 cm of snow accumulation.
Client Portal — online proposal review, DocuSign signing, service history, invoice access, and contact management at monsterportal.ca.
Automated route optimization — routes rebuild nightly and rebalance live during storms.
Why we built it
At 900+ contracted sites and 200+ snowfighters, spreadsheets and radios don't scale. Every system above was built because we needed it to deliver on our service commitments — not because it looked good in a pitch deck.
