How do you train your crews?

Edited

Quick answer: Structured training on equipment operation, service standards, property handling, digital tools, and safety. Crew members are trained, ranked, and continuously developed — supervisors monitor performance and provide in-season coaching. New hires complete the program before going to properties unsupervised.

Training components

  • Equipment operation: safe, proper use of all commercial-grade lawn and garden equipment.

  • Service standards: quality expectations, attention to detail, cleanup protocols.

  • Property handling: safe navigation, respecting client instructions, handling special situations.

  • Digital tools: using onboard tablets for property maps, client notes, and service logging.

  • Safety: WSIB compliance, PPE requirements, heat safety, hazard identification.

Ongoing development

Training doesn't end after onboarding. Supervisors review service patterns, spot-check quality on completed routes, and provide coaching through the season. Crew members who meet standards stay; those who don't are retrained or replaced. That discipline is part of how we maintain quality across a large crew.
