What are Monster's Green Ice Melt Bins and how do they work?

Quick answer: Monster's bright green bins are on-site containers of the same green ice melter our crews apply on every visit. Your seasonal package includes the bin and its first fill. Refills are requested by you — they are not automatic — and the number included each season is the number printed on your contract.

Our crews apply green ice melter to every cleared area on every visit and return automatically for freezing events under your package. The bin is the layer between visits: a scoop of melter is always on hand for a doorway, a step or a slick patch when conditions change before our next scheduled visit. Bins are sturdy, lockable 400 lb containers placed where your property needs them.

Every bin holds Monster's eco-friendly green ice melter, the product we use exclusively in place of regular salt. It is approximately 84% less corrosive than rock salt and is the same product our crews carry on the trucks.

Bins are delivered and filled at the start of the winter season and collected at the end of it. The number of bins on your property is set on your service agreement.

When a bin runs low, request a refill. Your contract states how many refills are included in your season; refills beyond that number are available at the rate on your contract. Requests must be made in writing with at least 72 hours' notice: use the Monster Client Portal, e-mail contact@monsterplow.ca, or call 647-967-7569. Refills are delivered on the next available route.

Keep the lid closed and the bin locked between uses so the product stays dry and free-flowing. Bins remain Monster property and are collected at season end; a damaged or missing bin is charged at the rate on your contract.
