Do you use subcontractors or is everything done in-house?

Edited

Quick answer: Everything in-house. Monster doesn't use subcontractors for any core operations — staff, equipment, dispatch, and client communication are all ours. Every person working on your property is a trained Monster employee in uniform, covered by WSIB and our $5M general liability insurance.

What "in-house" means here

  • Staff: 200+ trained snowfighters on Monster's own payroll.

  • Equipment: 90+ plow trucks owned and maintained by us.

  • Dispatch: operations center run by our team, not a third-party logistics provider.

  • Client communication: support, billing, and account management all handled internally.

Why we don't subcontract

Subcontracting saves some contractors money but at the cost of control, reliability, and accountability. When a storm hits hard, subcontracted crews get split across whichever customer is yelling loudest; in-house crews work the routes we've committed to. Our 85% client renewal rate and 12 consecutive Consumer Choice Awards reflect what consistent in-house operations produce over time.
